Peonies in Honor of Ornella Vanoni

In front of the Piccolo Teatro Strehler in Largo Greppi, Milan, one of the four large flowerbeds has been dedicated by the Municipality of Milan—thanks to Mayor Giuseppe Sala—to Ornella Vanoni, the legendary singer who passed away last November. Surrounding the commemorative stone, about thirty peonies were planted last February, generously donated by Lucia Romani Adami, owner of the Peoniamia nursery in Castel San Pietro, near Bologna.

The singer had, in fact, expressed the wish to have a flowerbed ‘with flowers and tomatoes’ dedicated to her memory, rather than a street.
