Discovering the characteristics of Italy’s primary cut flowers, learning how to care for them, mastering species-specific cutting techniques, and creating a floral arrangement under the guidance of master florists Mara Verbena, Maria Cecilia Serafino, and Federico Giglio. To mark International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry offered its employees the opportunity to participate in a floral art workshop entirely dedicated to Italian cut flowers.
The initiative, organized by the Association of Italian Flower Growers and Florists (AFFI) with the special participation of cooperatives from Sanremo and Naples, involved over 120 employees. Participants explored a unique art form where harmony of color, line, and proportion meet to transform flowers into genuine works of art, celebrating a pinnacle of Made in Italy excellence: the national horticultural supply chain.
The event featured contributions from the Undersecretary for Horticulture, Patrizio La Pietra, and the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, who extended his gratitude to AFFI President Cristiano Genovali and the Ministry’s female employees.
