CITY’SCAPE Award 2025

The winners of the CITY’SCAPE Award 2025 have been announced, the international prize promoted by the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservationists and organized by PAYSAGE – Promotion and Development for Landscape Architecture, with the goal of enhancing best practices in the fields of landscape architecture, urban and environmental regeneration.

This edition, which saw over 260 projects submitted, represented a moment of extraordinary growth and international dialogue, with the introduction of new categories that reflect the evolution of landscape as an integrated design discipline. With more than 260 projects submitted, this edition of the City’Scape Award achieved unprecedented success, confirming the growing importance of the award in the global landscape architecture scene.

While maintaining a solid Italian base — about 65% of the submitted projects — the most significant highlight is the strong and qualified international participation. Professionals and design studios from the following countries took part: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Iran, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.

Awarded projects by category:

  • CATEGORY A – URBAN FORESTRY AND LANDSCAPE REDEVELOPMENT OF URBAN SPACES:
    First prize awarded to the project REGENERATION OF THE DRY HILLS AND STREAM OF LA GAVIA presented by the studio Aldayjover Architecture and Landscape, with the team composed of I. Alday, M. Jover, J. Arcos, F. Mesonero;
  • CATEGORY B – DROSSCAPE: LANDSCAPE REDEVELOPMENT OF FORMER INDUSTRIAL AREAS:
    First prize awarded to the project WANGEN | ERBA – CONVERSION – NEW CITY DISTRICT;
  • CATEGORY C – STREET LANDSCAPE & SLOW LANDSCAPE: SLOW MOBILITY, BIKE LANES, TRAFFIC CALMING:
    First prize awarded ex-aequo to the projects PIAZZA PIA – ROME. A CHALLENGE FOR THE JUBILEE 2025 THAT TRANSFORMED THE AREA FACING SAINT PETER’S and THE NASI PARK BRIDGE;
  • CATEGORY D – PARKS AND GARDENS OF HISTORIC, ARTISTIC OR LANDSCAPE INTEREST:
    First prize awarded ex-aequo to four projects:
    REDEVELOPMENT OF VILLA DEL COLLE DEL CARDINALE,
    REDEVELOPMENT AND RESTORATION OF PARCO DEL VALENTINO IN TURIN,
    RESTORATION OF THE GARDEN OF TORRE, and
    CASTELLO DI BELGIOIOSO;
  • CATEGORY G – CITY SPORT & PLAY: SPORTS AREAS, PLAY SPACES, RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE AREAS IN THE LANDSCAPE:
    First prize awarded to the project PAVUNA PARK;
  • CATEGORY I – TOURISM LANDSCAPE: LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR TOURISM:
    First prize awarded to the project “IN HARMONY, IN NATURE – THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WATERFRONT OF LAKE SLUPECKIE IN POLAND”
